Everyday people all over the world seem to go through stages that might lead to a state of depression. Though many people perceive men as “strong,” they also have their fair share of emotions. No matter what age a man might be, he is always vulnerable to depression. Things like business, money, relationships, and health are all contributors to depression in men. Most men will often hide their feelings and mask what they really feel inside, but this will often only lead to bitterness and a deeper state of depression since they are constantly bottling up their feelings as opposed to communicating their true thoughts to friends, family or through a professional.

Whether they know it or not, women have a strong hold on how men feel about themselves. Men have always wanted to impress women and be the provider for someone who cares deeply for them. Men want to feel like they are taking care of his loved ones and his family and having someone there to support him plays a major role. Relationships also play an important role in the thoughts of a man. If he is unable to sustain a relationship, unable to enter into a lasting and loving partnership with a woman or who repeatedly gets dejected when asking women on dates, a man will start to doubt himself with women and that will certainly lead to some level of depression. If a man sees his friends in loving relationships, getting married or continuing their life with a significant other while he remains single, he will start to question why he isn’t wanted by the opposite sex. His mind will stray and become filled with many thoughts, most of which are untrue and negative in context.
Men and their Jobs
A man’s job plays a bug part in their sense of self worth and importance to their friends, peers, significant other and family. Today’s society fosters the idea of a successful man who makes enough money to care for his family and can provide for both himself and those around him. If a man doesn’t feel confident in his job or feel it has importance then it will certainly affect his mood and can easily lead to depression. Just as we mentioned above that money is a factor in depression, a man who gets laid off work and who is unemployed (therefore not making any money) will tend to experience episodes of depression. A man’s sense of self worth, confidence and thoughts of his ability to perform will all suffer as a result which will lead to depression.
Men and their Money
If there was one type of problem that created the most stress, it would have to be financial problems. Money has always been known as the “root of all evil” and it has been the cause of many fights between families and relationships. It always seems like when the money is down, so is the man. This is can often lead to a misinterpretation of happiness and life itself. Life is not about how much money you have, but how much you enjoy your life, even without money. When it is all said and done, we will not look back at how much money we made, or whether or not we got promoted, we will look back at how happy we were and whether or not we lived life to the fullest.
Men and their Health
Having money and women would not be of any importance if the man is not healthy. That’s why being able to live a healthy and active life should be your main goal. When a man feels healthy and confident, he will always exude a more confident lifestyle. Most men who are depressed will let go of their bodies and live a life that doesn’t include eating right, exercising and often times adding bad habits such as smoking and or drinking. This is very evident with most men who are simply unhappy with their lives. When a man is not satisfied with their life, they will almost always try to find satisfaction in other places. Whether it be through the drugs or alcohol, a man will tend to lean on habits that make him feel good since he cannot feel good about himself by himself. These all lead to unhealthy lifestyles and a man will have to make the necessary changes in order to feel healthier. By implementing a healthier lifestyle with weight lifting and nutritional foods, a man will be able to start living a healthier life.
